I won a bike!!

Yes, that's right. I won a bike! Blue Cross had a website contest (that I didn't even know about until they announced I'd won) last summer - giving away bikes to promote healthy living. I had signed up with the website to view my benefits and a month later I'd won a bike and a helmet. I don't know much about bikes, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Toby gets a good laugh every time he sees me riding it.

...or, at least that's what I keep telling myself. We took the kids to see the butterfly exhibit at the Frederik Meijer Gardens this week. My open fear of bugs and spiders has been passing onto to Toby lately, and I can't let my son be afraid of bugs. Boys are supposed to want to eat bugs and have ant farms and spiders as pets. Last week I caught a spider and a ladybug and instead of squealing as I race to flush them down the toilet, I put them into a clear dish for Toby to see (we still have them). And during our visit with the butterflies, I let one land on my head and Toby did too! Hopefully, this is a start to self-curing my bug phobia before Toby inherits it from me.
